During the Taliban regime women were locked up in at home, they were not allowed to go out for shopping or work in the public places. Since the fall of the Taliban in late 2001, many would agree that the political and cultural position of Afghan women has improved substantially. Today, Afghan women have a predominant presence in the Afghan political domain. According to UN, women represent almost 28% of Afghanistan’s National Parliament, 9% higher than the world’s average of women in parliament.

Buzkashi is a game that dates itself into Afghan antiquity. The name Buzkashi, literally translated means “goat-grabbing” suggest it was derived from hunting mountain goats by champions on horseback. Today the rider (or team) who is able to pitch a dead calf across a goal line first wins. The game may last as long as a week and is as free-wheeling as the Afghan spirit. Click Image to Enlarge.

This is the picture of our young people, our noble children. I am proud of them, two days embedding with them i believed they are so strong to stand up against enemy, against Taliban and strangers who are against our nation. I am so glad and proud today to see the National Army of Afghanistan getting so strong. Before Mujaheddin and starting civil war, Afghanistan had the most powerful Army.
